Welcome to the home page of BARA "The Voice of Automation". BARA (formerly known as the British Robot Association) provides a voice for the Robotics and Automation Industries, when dealing with government, industry, financial and academic institutions. The aim of the BARA is to promote the use of, and assist in the development of Automation in British industry.

BARA Council had an Extraordinary General Meeting on 26th February 2009 here at the University. This was in order to vote on the resolution for the BARA membership to join the PPMA and for the BARA identity to exist as a special sub-group within the PPMA with representation on the PPMA Board. All members were welcome, but only supplier members were able to vote. The vote was taken and the result was in favour of joining the Processing & Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA). Further details will be made available in due course.
The Resolution was sent out to all members on 4th February 09 together with the EGM Overview from the PPMA and the Memorandum of Understanding.
Robotics for Development of Cognition
One of the first Humanoid Robots in Britain
BARA involved in establishing open doctoral training network for research in developmental and cognitive robotics for humanoid platforms.
The aim is to provide interdisciplinary training and research opportunities in the core disciplines involved in developmental robotics within the Marie Curie Initial Network Training Program.
